IFMSA
The International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), founded in 1951, is one of the world’s oldest and largest student-run organisations. It represents, connects and engages every day with an inspiring and engaging network of 1.3 million medical students from 139 national members organizations in 130 countries around the globe.
As the only National Member Organization (NMO) of IFMSA in Armenia, BIL Armenia connects Armenian medical students to a big international network. Through IFMSA, our members participate in world-renowned events such as the General Assemblies (March and August Meetings), regional meetings, and are part of various Standing Committees that address pressing health issues in different areas.
What We Do Through IFMSA
Exchanges: Our students have the opportunity to experience medicine in different cultural and healthcare settings through IFMSA’s professional and research exchange programs. These exchanges foster growth by offering a hands-on experience in foreign medical institutions, helping students gain a global perspective.
International Events: BIL Armenia actively participates in IFMSA’s events, where students from around the world collaborate on initiatives to tackle global health challenges, contribute to policy-making, and develop solutions that make an impact.
Global Advocacy: Through IFMSA, our students have a voice in global healthcare conversations, engaging with international health organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO), addressing health inequities, and promoting sustainable healthcare solutions.
By being part of IFMSA, BIL Armenia empowers Armenian healthcare students to become leaders and advocates for better health, both at home and globally.
